up for bids is an antique J&J Parkes Oaken Gates grandfather clock. it stands approx 7 high. the door of the clok face is approx 30 high and 15 wide. the base across is 19 wide and the top front is 20 wide. the glass seems to be original as it is rough around the edges. the scenery in the corners of the clock face depicts what looks to be churches. the top pic looks like a house. the clock is not in working order. I have what i believe to be all the parts in a separate box. parts included are shown in the pics. there is no key for the door. the finial on top is missing. each weight weighs approx 14 lbs. the wood could be burl but im not sure. the clock will definitely need some work and refinishing. there is some damage to the wood from age where the top layer of the wood has peeled off. above the hands on teh face of the clock there is a small hole that probably had hands as tghere is some type of numbering that is not evenly spaced around the hole in a circle as in a clock. i have more pics to show all aspects of the clock but i can only put 12 on to sell. if you are interested, you can send me your email and i will try and get you out more pics. i am no expert or clock collector, someone left this to me years ago and its been sitting in the corner with all intentions of my getting it restored. i am now moving and down sizing and have to get rid of it. i had an auctioneer in a few years back and he told me it was probably from the 18th century. this is a great old ...
