Today we are listing this remarkable mahogany moon dial brass face grandfather clock that dates from 1900 to 1910. Even though there is no label that we can find, it is not hard to tell that this is one fine clock! The original case has a fantastic patina and conveys the warmth that can only come from a 100 year old mahogany. This clock has: a hand painted moon dial with a brass filigree; a sweep hand and quarter recorder; been completely cleaned, adjusted and serviced; brand new weights and an adjusted pendulum; all mahogany case with a glass door that shows the glass weights and pendulum; a French foot cut out bracket base a dainty picture frame molding across the face; a shapely glass door; cabriole fluted columns; a dome top glass door on the bonnet to reveal the brass carved clock face & the moon dial; a broken arch top with a center finial; dainty applied bracket molding and carved openings on both sides; normal little nicks and dings, but other than that it is all original except for the pendulum and weights. The overall size is 21 inches wide, 16 inches deep at the base and 95 inches high. There is a plate on the inside of the case showing that the Balzer family was responsible for maintaining this clock.
