Fresh from a recent estate sale is this Mastercrafters Vintage Waterfall and Campfire Motion Clock. Great condition some very minor wear (because it s old!) It is in nonworking condition. When plugged in it lights up & hums but second hand doesn t turn. If I lay it face down it turns. It is still very nice and very charming! There are no chips or cracks, just a few very unnoticeable scuffs that you would have to find with a high powered magnifying glass!Like I said this clock is charming and awesome! The whole theme is the forest with a beautiful waterfall! Above the waterfall is a flickering campfire that looks real as it flickers and glows. The outside of the clock is surrounded by pine trees. So relaxing to watch! This is not a reproduction but an old motion clock that has not been touched or restored, it is in as found condition. Cord is perfect, no cracks or frays. Howard & Company No. 23 Astronomical Clock, Boston, c. 1860, the walnut drum head case with carved decoration below dial opening, glazed hood door hinged at 12 o clock position, glazed waist door, side lites, mirrored backboard, recessed panel in the base on iron pad feet for attachment to the floor, 16-inch dia. silvered brass astro dial engraved E. Howard & Company, Boston, three original blued steel hands, No. 3 eight-day duration, jeweled and damascened plate movement, Geneva stop and dead-beat escapement enclosed in brass dust cover, temperature compensating pendulum with two faceted glass jars, powered by a brass-cased weight, ht. 84 1/2 in.Note: An 1874 E. Howard catalogue describes these timekeepers as Astronomical Clocks for Observatories, Regulators for Watchmakers Use and for Railway Depots ; further it states it has four holes and the pallets jewelled, and a mercurial pendulum thoroughly adjusted to heat and cold, which enables us to detect the variation of one-hundredth of a second per day.
